HILLCREST

RESIDENTIAL // NEW BUILD

SUULIN ARCHITECTS

This bespoke home, nestled within the picturesque farmlands of Ontario, was designed in collaboration with the client, an architect & developer in the GTA. The architectural narrative of this residence is guided by a commitment to framing and embracing the breathtaking views of the surrounding pastoral landscape. Noteworthy features include open corners, skylights, multi-level windows, and expansive doors that collectively define the character of the dwelling. This projects institutional scale and construction approach, incorporating curtain wall windows on HSS columns, alongside a substantial use of heavy steel and concrete, proved to be a valuable learning experience, offering insights into the coordination of larger-scale structural engineering and handling of structural shop drawings. I assisted on this project from the building permit application until the finishing of the exterior envelope, including rough-in of the mechanical systems. I actively participated in tasks ranging from the submission of building permit documents, drawing & issuing IFC sets, coordination of mechanical and structural systems, and review of shop drawings.
