LANSDOWNE ROWHOUSE

RESIDENTIAL // RENOVATION

SELF DIRECTED

In 2021, my partner and I bought an aging Toronto rowhouse in the West-end in need of extensive renovations. Undertaking the project with a hands-on-approach, we proceeded to fully gut, then frame, wire, plumb, and finish the house ourselves, based on our own designs -adapting and refining it as the work unfolded. Balancing full-time jobs with the demanding renovations posed an intimidating challenge, but it evolved into an invaluable learning experience. This endeavor has provided me with a comprehensive insight into the entire construction process, providing a holistic understanding of the nuanced effort and intricacies involved at each stage, from the initial demolition to the final fit-out. While there remains substantial work ahead to complete our home, the process thus far has been immensely gratifying, and we are delighted with the results.
